Serena is a Harvard-educated lawyer specializing in addressing novel and difficult legal issues for cutting-edge startups seeking maximum impact in their industries.
She began her legal career as a litigator at a top big law firm, Davis Polk & Wardwell focusing on complex commercial and securities litigation, and regulatory investigations.
Now, she advises startups from formation to fundraising, supporting them as outside general counsel. Blending in her litigation experience, she consults clients on risk mitigation strategies, pre-litigation risks, and alternative dispute resolutions.
As an early adopter of crypto herself and a creditor for the Mt Gox bankruptcy, Serena is passionate about blockchain and other emerging technologies. She advises on DAOs, NFTs and their related securities issues.
Her passion for plant medicines brought her to work with professionals working with plant medicine, alternative therapies, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. To that end, Serena counsels on the legal boundaries of psychedelic-assisted therapy, harm reduction, liability protection, regulatory compliance, especially corporate practice of medicine for healthcare professionals and clinics. She is licensed to practice in California & New York.

Ken Giancola serves as outside general counsel to entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals, investors, and growing businesses, particularly service companies and regulated businesses. With a background in economics and entrepreneurship, Ken’s approach is for legal to be a tool and solution for business challenges rather than a cost or impediment. Industries served include tech, aviation, professional firms, and innovative brick and mortar businesses.
He has advised over 100 organizations at various stages and counsels clients on fundraising, corporate governance, employment matters, operating agreements, service agreements, pre-litigation dispute resolution, sourcing and managing specialists and local counsel, and transactions such as leases, acquisitions, and business sales.
Ken’s problem solving and risk mitigation approach comes from over a decade of commercial and employment litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Prior to Giancola Law Firm & Radicle Law, Ken served as in-house counsel, managed a litigation firm, and worked at NYC-based litigation boutiques. Ken is an avid offshore fisherman and spends time on the water with his family chasing tuna, marlin, or whatever is biting.
An alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Fordham Law School, Ken is licensed to practice in New York & New Jersey.
